What is Invisalign?

Invisalign are clear aligners that are custom-made for each patient to move, or gradually shift, their teeth according to a specific sequence determined by the orthodontist. The aligners are removable and virtually invisible, allowing patients to straighten their teeth without others noticing.

What is the treatment process?

A series of aligners are used to move the teeth over the course of the treatment process, each making slight adjustments to tooth position. The length of treatment depends on the severity of the case and is determined by the doctor. For adults, the treatment usually takes about 12 months. For the best results, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day and only removed to eat, brush or floss.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

We encourage patients to meet with Dr. Herberger to determine if they are a good candidate for Invisalign braces. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about payment options for Invisalign or if you qualify for the treatment. For patients with extreme jaw complications or an extreme overbite or underbite, we recommend traditional braces to correct the problem instead.
