Dr. Thomas Herberger, DDS

I was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio. After finishing my pre-dental training at the University of Kentucky, I received a dental degree (DDS) at Ohio State University. I completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where I earned my class’s highest award for clinical research.

In January of 1995, I was accepted into the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a highly regarded scientific and research oriented-society whose members are admitted by invitation only based on testing and their contribution of original research in orthodontics. In January 2010, I resigned from the Angle society to focus on my practice and teaching at Case Western Reserve’s Graduate Orthodontic program.

My father founded our orthodontic practice in 1956. In June of 1989, I joined and purchased the family business. My father and I worked together until his death in 1995. We have always believed in treating each and every person as an individual and meeting their unique needs.

When I’m not helping patients, I enjoy bike riding (I rode my bike across the United States in the summer of 1979), computers, community service and scuba diving. I also help out for 2.5 years at the new Cleveland Aquarium as a diver. I’m a member of the Lorain County Dental Society and the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, and previously served on their boards. I currently teach future orthodontists at Case Western Reserve University in the orthodontic specialty clinic.

Veronica Newton, Receptionist

Hi, my name is Veronica and I’ve been a Cleveland area resident my entire life. I am a wife and mother of two boys who are patients of Dr. Herberger’s. Before becoming a mother, I worked in the medical field my entire career. After seeing Dr. Herberger’s work and care first-hand, it was easy for me to want to join his staff and help other patients get the exceptional care they are looking for. In my spare time, I am an artist, enjoying painting and photography.
